PubReady — Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 15, 2026
Introduction
PubReady ("the App") is developed and operated by Area43 Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
PubReady is a bar trivia practice app that helps you improve across classic pub quiz categories using spaced repetition and smart question weighting.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Usage and Analytics Data
We automatically collect anonymized usage data to understand how users interact with the App, including:
- Features and screens accessed
- Session duration and frequency
- In-app actions and events
- App version and OS version
Device Information
We collect basic device information required for the App to function and for crash diagnosis:
- Device type and model
- Operating system version
- Unique device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID, where permitted)
- App version
Trivia Practice Data
Your practice session data — including questions answered, accuracy per category, streak history, and response times — is stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to Area43 Labs or any third party.
Subscription Data
If you purchase a Pro subscription, your purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation of your subscription status through RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) but do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other financial information.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Improve the App based on usage patterns and crash reports
- Serve relevant advertisements to free-tier users
- Manage subscription entitlements through RevenueCat
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Storage and Security
Your trivia practice data (questions answered, accuracy scores, streaks) is stored entirely on your device. No cloud sync or remote backup is performed — your progress data never leaves your phone.
Anonymized analytics and crash data are processed by third-party services (listed below) on their secure infrastructure.
Despite our safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
Since your practice data is stored locally on your device, you control its retention. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data permanently.
Anonymized, aggregated analytics data collected by third-party services (which cannot identify you) may be retained by those services according to their own retention policies.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data subject to their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Interstitial advertising (free tier only) | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Firebase Analytics (Google) | Usage analytics | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Crash reporting | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
Advertising
Free-tier users see interstitial ads served by Google AdMob between practice sessions. Ads are never shown during a session in progress.
On iOS, the App requests App Tracking Transparency permission before serving personalized ads. If you decline tracking, non-personalized ads are shown instead. On Android in EEA regions, a consent prompt is shown before ad loading. If consent is declined, non-personalized ads are served.
Pro subscribers do not see any ads.
